Sight loss advisor role available
Would you like a flexible, part time role where you can make a difference to people every day? As Sight Loss Advisor, you would be working for an effective local charity with significant autonomy in your day-to-day role.
Sight Loss Advisors work one-on-one with people with visual impairment to support them towards their goals, giving advice and information, sharing useful equipment, and providing internal and external referrals. You might meet people in our office in Weston-super-Mare, in local hubs, care homes or in their homes. You’d need to document your work and keep abreast of local support on offer.
You’ll need the ability to connect with people in different circumstances, gently working with them to progress towards their goals, focusing on empowerment while maintaining professional boundaries.
This opportunity could suit someone with experience providing advice to clients, managing cases, assessing risk and any safeguarding concerns. Prior experience working with people with visual impairment or other disabilities would be helpful. Lived experience of visual impairment would be brilliant, but full induction and training will be given.
The role is permanent. We can agree a working schedule during Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. The salary is £23,500 to £24,500 pro rata for 23 hours a week.
