Vision North Somerset can give you information about the following ways in which visually impaired people may continue to enjoy leisure activities:
Talking books

Books by many popular authors are available to listen to on audio tape, CD’s or as MP3 files. These are available from libraries in North Somerset or via post from an organisation called the Calibre Audio Library.
The RNIB also provides a Talking Book Service which can be accessed in a range of ways including via an app.
Woodspring Talking News (WTN)
This is a local charity providing a weekly news tape for visually impaired people in North Somerset. The service keeps you up to date with what is happening in the area and there is no charge. We can refer you to join up.
Holidays
Vision North Somerset can provide information about hotels with special facilities for people with sight loss and travel companies specialising in support people with visual impairment or other disabilities.
Other options
Our telephone groups discuss a range of leisure options including Arts and Crafts, Gardening, Books and more.
We can also tell you about large print playing cards, tactile dominoes and other games available from our Resource Centre.
